Women Of The Desert Fashion Show

Women of the Desert Fashion Show was an event organized by the w2w Events on April 2015, one of the event i had the honor to be part of the organization and among the designers for the show.The title of the show was the selected theme for all of us designers to get our inspiration from and create a collection that relates to it.

The women of the desert's title represented a variety symbol of ideas for me and one of them was to include a menswear collection but the greatest idea of all was when i had a deep conversation with Zareen Khan, owner of the w2w Events and head of the organization to realize one of the biggest projects never done before in Runway history especially in UAE that turned out to be a successful project not only for us but for everyone who got involved to it.

My inspiration was an untold story for so many of those who live with disability and never had the chance to talk about their stories but then a night where i attended a Pop Up event on January 2015 in JBR by Giuliana Rancic during DSF(Dubai Shopping Festival), i met this wonderful girl of 16 years old on a wheelchair accompanied by her mother who accidentally asked me for a pen as her daughter wanted to write a note to her greatest idol Giuliana and that's when i found out about her story that almost teared me up and moved my heart. They are very inspirational stories as well as emotional and i wanted to share them with the whole world and give them a voice to speak for themselves as all of them had different stories and journeys but with a common word, Disability.
